Opening and closing dates for Wits admissions

Applications for the class of 2024 will be open from May to August 2023. Payment of the Application Fee

The application fee is R100 for South African citizens and is non-refundable. Foreign nationals are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of R700. Application fees must be paid by the specified deadlines. Use your Person Number or T Number as a reference when making the payment. Ensure that you include all the necessary supporting documents.

If you did not upload supporting documents during your application, you can now do so through the student self-service portal at https://self-service.wits.ac.za. To log in, enter your personal number (not your T number) and the first six digits of your ID. Current students should submit their final grades for 11th grade electronically. If you are already logged in, upload certified copies of all your graduation and exit certificates. For all tertiary registrations, you must upload a certified copy of your official academic transcripts and a statement or certificate of good moral character. Please note that GEMP applicants’ interim, self-service generated results will only be considered during the initial assessment.

If you wish to apply to two programs within the same faculty (such as Humanities, Commerce, or Science), it is recommended to submit separate applications for each program within the faculty with fewer admission requirements. Keep your options open, especially when applying to engineering or health sciences programs. Do not enter the program duration when applying. You are applying for admission to your first year of college. South African citizens are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of R100, while foreign nationals must pay R700.
