International students studying at UWC can seek assistance from the UWC International Student Services Office (ISSO), which is a dedicated department within student administration. Any individual who does not possess a South African ID and has a foreign nationality (from outside Africa), is from SADC countries (within Africa), is a refugee, or holds a Section 24 asylum permit is considered an international student. Due to their specific needs in pursuing academic endeavors in South Africa, international students require specialized support. The International Student Services Office (ISSO), a specialized unit of Student Administration, assists international students at different stages of their academic journey at UWC. This aligns with UWC’s mission to foster global perspectives within the academic community, support intellectual pursuits, and contribute to South Africa’s reintegration into the global arena (2007 UWC Mission Statement). UWC is dedicated to research, teaching, and learning, aiming to provide a space where individuals can access the knowledge that empowers them to transform their aspirations into action. International students have the opportunity to continue their studies in an inclusive and diverse academic community in the renowned city of Cape Town. Application Process for International Students (2024-2025):

To begin the application process, please ensure that you meet the admission requirements for your desired academic program. You can find these requirements in the ADMISSION section. In Step 2, you have the option to either apply for a waiver from the University of South Africa (USAF) or have your Foreign Qualifications (SAQA) assessed by the South African Qualifications Authority. This can be done in the Exams section. Step 3: To submit your application to UWC, please proceed to the application section below. You will find the online application form there. Step 4: For information on applying for a visa or extending an already-issued visa, please refer to the Immigration section below. In Step 5, once you have completed the pre-registration release process, you can proceed with registration. Find detailed instructions in the REGISTRATION section. Additionally, make sure to read the arrival section in Step 6 to prepare for your move to Cape Town. Step 7: We value your feedback!
