The University of Cape Town (UCT) has released the deadline for online registration for prospective students in the upcoming academic year. It is essential for prospective students to be aware of the specific registration dates for UCT Online. UNDERGRADUATE RETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION
This rule applies to all students who meet the academic criteria for continuing their studies and were previously enrolled in a BSc program at UCT before the current academic year.
- Instead of the usual on-campus registration process, students will need to register remotely using the PeopleSoft system well ahead of their return to campus. In January, detailed instructions on how to register using PeopleSoft will be provided. It is vital to regularly check your UCT email account to remain informed about the registration process, as well as any updates or announcements.

The system will release the results for the most recent academic year in December. The outcomes of the January supplemental, postponed, and summer term exams will also be made public on January 1.
- Returning students who have no outstanding issues or missing test results must complete their online registration between January 20 and January 28, 2022.
- Outstanding results (those who took additional, postponed, or summer term exams) students must finish their registration from January 31 to February 3.
Important note
- It is not acceptable for any student to wait until they return to Cape Town to register. It is significant to remember that late registration fees of R2000 may apply to students.
- For overseas students, clearance processes, such as visa verification, medical aid verification, and fee payments, will also be carried out remotely. To ensure a smooth registration procedure, international students must adhere to the clearance requirements.

The completion of registration is dependent on the settlement of your fee account. It is crucial to bear in mind that South African students are permitted to register without making an initial deposit, whereas international students are required to pay before proceeding with the registration process.
