UMP Student Residence

• UMP offers a variety of on- and off-campus housing options for both undergraduate and graduate students. Typically, students start in a first-tier residence (full catering), then move to a third-tier residence (semi-autonomous self-catering), and finally to a second-tier residence (senior catering or self-catering). Each residence has its own unique traditions and contributes to creating a memorable experience. UMP prioritizes safety, with strict access controls and surveillance cameras in all residences. Students with disabilities can choose from a range of housing options, and specific requirements can be addressed by contacting the Disability Service and the Student Accommodation Office.

University of Mpumalanga UMP Private Accommodation

• Students who have been accepted to UMP but have not secured a spot in university residences are provided with a list of accredited private lodging options for their consideration. UMP has a policy of accrediting private housing facilities, with the UMP Private Accommodation Accreditation Committee continuously reviewing and accrediting facilities within a 60-kilometer radius of the university. Accredited private facilities must meet minimum requirements, including providing transportation for students. A list of approved private accommodations can be found on the university website as well as at the Student Housing office.
