To apply for admission to undergraduate degrees (higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, and degrees), honors degrees, postgraduate diplomas, and master’s and doctoral degrees at Stellenbosch University, please visit the online application portal on the university’s official website. It is mandatory to complete an online application on the university’s website to be considered for admission to either the undergraduate or graduate programs at Stellenbosch University (SU).

Requirements for registration documentation:

For students using assisted registration on the Stellenbosch campus, it is necessary to present the original copies of the following documents during the registration period determined by the faculty:

In 2020, the release of the NSC or IEB final exams for high school graduates.
Candidates intending to take the NSC or IEB exams who have obtained their National Senior Diploma before 2019.
Candidates from international school systems: School leaving certificates and college exception declarations issued by the South African Registration Board.
Candidates who have previously attended college: An original academic record or transcript, a university-issued certificate of good conduct, and the documents mentioned in clauses (b) or (c) above.
If you are not a South African citizen, you must electronically submit additional supporting documentation to intpreregistration@sun.ac.za for pre-registration. Please ensure that your student ID number is included on each document.
- A copy of your latest confirmed visa
- Verification of South African healthcare coverage (for those with study visas), a confirmed copy of your latest student visa, or
- Verification of your country of permanent residence in South Africa
Proof of payment (any scholarships or bursaries must be approved by SU International’s financial administrators).
