To be eligible for registration in courses at the University of the Western Cape, applicants must meet the following requirements:

National Senior Certificate (NSC): Programs leading to a degree, diploma, or higher certificate require the NSC as a minimum academic qualification.
Point System: The university utilizes a point system to determine a certain number of points required for each discipline in the program the candidate is applying for. Applicants must achieve the necessary level in each discipline.
Selection Criteria: In cases where there is competition for places in a specific program, the selection of students is based on criteria established by the faculty selection committees. This occurs when the number of qualified applicants exceeds the available spots.
