University of Pretoria Student Accommodation

The Division of Residence Affairs and Accommodation, also known as TuksRes, is a separate business entity that provides services to residential students through various management teams. The University of Pretoria takes pride in being the largest residential university in South Africa, accommodating 10,000 students. To cater to the diverse needs of our student population residing in residences, we have established a comprehensive framework called TuksRes. Please note that some of our apartments have been given new names, which you can conveniently find here.

About Us

In October 2004, the University of Pretoria Council made the executive decision to consolidate all residence-related operations into a single business entity. This led to the establishment of the Department of Residence Affairs and Accommodation (TuksRes), aiming to streamline various university functions.

Please note:

Students are encouraged to reside on the campus where they will be studying. For example, Education students can choose to live on the Groenkloof Campus. On the Hatfield Campus, there are only dormitories available for postgraduates. Please be aware that some of our apartments have been assigned new names, which you can find here for your convenience.
